And what for? For a session with the lovely group of students at Merthyr College. They are first year Art Practice Degree students and this is there second life drawing session… EVER!
I’ve had this in from Raw Research Casting Team who are looking for ‘real women’ for a lingerie and swimwear shoot. It’s amazingly well paid and there will be a lot of interest I’m sure. You need to be 25-35 years old and either blonde or Latin/Mediterranean looking.
The work that this group of students produce is always stunning and this evening was no stranger to high quality work.
Really great to see everyone sharpening their pencils and getting stuck in with a healthy drawing practice for 2020. Always inspiring to see the progress of returning artists; a conscious cultivation that initiates growth. It becomes a form of meditation – a kind of routine that builds into a personal portfolio of growth, a kind of creative chronology.
It’s a weekly thing, we only stop for the festive season, and it’s a well received and relaxed couple of hours of life drawing, sketching a nude or nudes, chatting to local artists and chilling in the Little Man’s very quiet vault.
“Some tutors are not clued up and you can end up feeling uncomforable. For example, they try and get you to do impossible poses or they let the room get really cold.
We had a student photographer, Alice, come along to our ‘Draw The Artist’ event a couple of weeks back. She simply wanted the opportunity to document a life drawing event and the ‘models’ and artists present were all OK with that.

Andy was contacted by a film student who’s next deadline included work where he needed to recreate accurately the light in a scene from a film. He chose the mirror scene in the great Scarlett Johansson film Under The Skin.
