Sunday 15 March 2020

A pair of giggly friends came for the first time, one a seasoned creative, the other a total newbie, exploring this discipline, totally inexperienced; sometimes it requires as much much bravery on the part of artist to see themselves move through the creative process as it does the model to allow themselves to be seen unfiltered.

JJ’s Tuesday Life Drawing

JJ is one of the organisers of the group and she attends mostly all Sunday and Tuesday sessions, on hand to stand in if a model gets delayed or can’t make it. On this occasion however she was planned in as it’s rare to get a no show nowadays, all Cardiff Life Models being the absolute essence of reliability 🙂

Life Lines

The proposed Cardiff Life Model Collective life drawing show, ‘Life Lines’, has been cancelled due to the intervention of a couple that I have endeavoured to help and support and who are currently claiming copyright infringement or something along those lines.

Sunday Afternoon Life Drawing In Cardiff

Andy made his way to Little Man Coffee Company for a Sunday afternoon session of life drawing with Cardiff Life Model Collective. We are at this venue EVERY Sunday afternoon throughout the year apart from at a few weeks over the Christmas break. The same applies for Tuesday evenings…

From The Model

Really great to see everyone sharpening their pencils and getting stuck in with a healthy drawing practice for 2020. Always inspiring to see the progress of returning artists; a conscious cultivation that initiates growth. It becomes a form of meditation – a kind of routine that builds into a personal portfolio of growth, a kind of creative chronology.

One Sunday Afternoon…

It was January 12th and a chilly Sunday in Cardiff but Little Man Coffee Companies doors were open and the on the premises baked and cooked cakes and snacks as well as a range of coffees, teas and somethings stronger were on offer…

Neath College

First session back at Neath College following the Christmas break and the tutor, Ben, was not letting the students off lightly – it was straight in with paint and stiff plastic tools to drag it across the paper.
